Cost of Living in Georgia

One of the most significant advantages of studying in Georgia is the exceptionally affordable cost of living, which allows for a high-quality lifestyle without the financial strain found in other Western countries. From accommodation and food to transport and leisure, students can manage their expenses wisely while enjoying all that the vibrant city of Tbilisi has to offer. This affordability makes a world-class European education more accessible than ever.

A Breakdown of Student Expenses:

  • Average Monthly Budget: The total cost of living, including accommodation and food, is estimated at an affordable $250 - $300 (approx. ₹20,000) per month.
  • Affordable Cuisine: A diverse range of food options is available at reasonable prices. The city of Tbilisi alone has over 100 Indian restaurants, and a monthly food budget can be as low as ₹6,000 (195 GEL).
  • Extremely Cheap Transportation: Public transport (bus and metro) is highly efficient and inexpensive. A student ticket costs only 0.20 GEL (approx. ₹6) and is valid for 90 minutes of travel.
  • Favorable Currency: The exchange rate for the Georgian Lari (GEL) is favorable for international students, with 1 GEL approximately equal to 31 INR.
  • Accommodation Rent: Rent for student housing makes up a reasonable portion of the budget, ensuring comfortable living is well within reach.
