Indian Students

Grigol Robakidze University (GRUNI) extends a special and heartfelt welcome to our students from India. We are proud to be recognized as the "TOP UNIVERSITY IN GEORGIA FOR INDIAN STUDENTS," a distinction we have earned by creating a supportive, culturally sensitive, and academically enriching environment that feels like a home away from home. We understand the concerns of both students and parents, and every aspect of our university is designed to ensure you feel secure, comfortable, and confident in your choice.

Your journey to GRUNI is remarkably convenient. A 5-hour direct flight from New Delhi brings you to Tbilisi International Airport. From there, the university is just a short 35-40 minute drive, making travel simple and stress-free. As the brochure notes, "India parents will feel as if their child is studying in just another Indian state." This sense of proximity is matched by our deep commitment to your well-being. Our student body is a testament to this trust, with over 2000+ students and their parents feeling confident in choosing our institution.

We recognize that food is a crucial part of feeling at home. That is why we have established an Indian mess situated directly in the hostel itself, where our dedicated Indian cooks prepare fresh, hot, and authentic Indian cuisine. We offer a wide variety of delectable dishes to satisfy your cravings, ensuring you never have to compromise on your dietary needs. Beyond the campus, Tbilisi boasts over 100 Indian restaurants, and you will find numerous supermarkets stocked with familiar Indian products.

Your academic experience is also tailored to be uniquely beneficial. Our Rector, Dr. Mamuka Tavkhelidze, highlights that our academic program is based on an approach that unifies the fundamentals of European business education with Indian standards of education, both theoretical and practical. This ensures that your education is not only globally recognized but also resonates with your own academic background. Furthermore, the strong and growing relationship between our nations, underscored by the 2019 India-Georgia Free Trade Agreement (FTA), creates significant opportunities. The exponential growth in trade, with exports from India to Georgia increasing from $1.2 million in 2017 to $69.07 million in 2022, signals a future of robust bilateral cooperation.

Cultural connection is a vibrant part of life at GRUNI. The university actively supports and organises Indo-Georgian cultural exchange events, and you will find a welcoming local culture, with the brochure noting an "appreciation of Indian cultural movies with many Georgians being fan of Raj Kapoor." From our secure, separate hostels for boys and girls to our dedicated team of over 50 staff members (including Indian staff), every detail is managed to provide you with exceptional care.
